Rotary Meeting Minutes June 7, 2023
Meeting called to order at Buccilli’s at 12:01 pm
Pledge & Prayer:
Heather Marra led the pledge and Anita Sheppard the prayer

Approval of 5/24/23 Meeting Minutes
A motion was made by Ben and seconded by Jim.
All in attendance were in favor of the motion.
Prospective Members Week 2:
Stacy Seaman (not in attendance, but dropped off golf outing potential sponsors she had contacted.)

Club Updates & News
Paul Harris Nominees:
The following nominees were voted on at the meeting by secret ballot and by email for those who could not attend: 2 individuals from this list will be selected for the Paul Harris Award.

Separately, a prior Rotarian was voted on at the meeting as another individual getting a Paul Harris award. They are short 100 points from previous membership from receiving a Paul Harris award. The club would like to recognize this individual and will provide the points.
Collins Field Day (Heather)
Heather reported that an excellent Field Day at Collins Elementary was held. The equipment that the Rotary Club provided contributed to the success.
2nd Annual Golf Outing (Scott)
Teams- 9 or 10 golf teams have confirmed
6/7/23- Meeting at Backdoor at 6:00 pm
6/14/23- Stuff the bags will take place in the evening
Speaker- Debra Williams - Human Trafficking Community Group
- Human Trafficking is Sex Trafficking and/or Labor Trafficking
- Force, Fraud, and Coercion are methods used by traffickers to press victims into lives of slavery and abuse
- Human Trafficking is a $150 billion global industry
- Michigan has one of the highest rates of child trafficking as well as one of the highest overall rates for all human trafficking in the nation
