HL Rotary Support for Shop With A Hero

 

Michigan State Police Sgt. Scott Bates and Community Services Trooper Kyle McInerney  spoke to the Rotary Club of Houghton Lake about the Shop With A Hero Program. This is the 14th year of the program where Police, DNR, Fire, and EMS Heroes help 50-60 children in the community shop for the holidays. The children get dinner from Subway, and a Police escorted charter bus trip from the police post to Walmart where they receive a $100 gift card and a Hero to help them purchase gifts. Interact club, cheerleaders, and victim services members help the children wrap the presents. Rotary Club of Houghton Lake President Denise Stefanko presented a $1,000 donation to Scott & Kyle in support of the program.
