Carol Thelen spoke to the Rotary Club of Houghton Lake regarding the Relay for Life. Last year, excessive rain caused the program to not meet its financial fundraising goals. The organization has reduced costs to help compensate, yet sill provide $15 million toward cancer research and 15,400 rides to treatment through the "Road to Recovery" program. This year's Relay for Life will take place June 23rd at the Bobcat track field and will include box-car races, a survivor luncheon, and a stuff the bus fundraiser, Rotary President Denise Stefanko presented Carol a check for $500 in support of the program.
