The Rotary Club of Houghton Lake helped support the purchase of an ambulance for a town in Haiti with a donation of $2,500 that, when added to $1,000 from the Roscommon Rotary, was matched by Rotary District 6290 for a total of $7,000. Houghton Lake Rotarian Dr. Dan McGregor travelled to Haiti with the Hands For Haiti group to help deliver the ambulance and provide medical support to the community.
